I am not sure what I will do with this yet, but health and nutrition have fascinated me since I was a kid. Didn’t do me much good for a long time:

But since mid-2024, I’ve been in a situation more conducive to putting some of what I learned into practice.

I’d guess there’s anywhere from fifty to seventy pounds’ difference (less) between Photo One and Photo Two. Another big difference is I’m now type 2 diabetic, so it’s time to stop fucking around with this. I still have random small indulgences but nothing to write home about. My blood sugar overall is good, I’m stronger, and my body’s recomposing. It’s kind of fascinating to see the changes. At least if you’re me. I’ll spare you all the sight, though. Old-lady body! Ewwwww!
Primary interests: keto eating, fat loss, type 2 diabetes, women’s health, aging concerns, micronutrient (vitamin and mineral) nutrition. I don’t know if I want to do a lot of writing about this in a formal sense. I had a low-carb blog years ago, but people treat dietary choices like religion, and I’m tired of arguing about bullshit. When I eat one way, my blood sugar’s in the stratosphere and I turn into a blimp. When I eat another way, my blood sugar normalizes and I discover I had ankles under all that fucking swelling. You can keep your “plant-based diet.” Have fun dying of cirrhosis.

If I do write about this in the blog here, it’ll be under the category health nut. So, uh, go there.
